FACTS ABOUT ME
The Real Me (No Filter)
Welcome to the fun facts about Wordista section, the not-so-secret vault of my quirks and randomness!
If you’ve ever wondered what makes the human behind Wordista tick, this is where the fun begins.
It’s a kinda behind-the-scenes tour of my life, filled with tidbits you didn’t ask for but might secretly enjoy knowing.
So, if you’re up for it, read on and get to know me a little better!
P.S. I’ll keep updating this little corner of the blog as I grow, learn, and maybe discover more quirks about myself. So, feel free to check back; you never know what fun fact might pop up next!
My World in a Few Facts: The Inside Scoop
📔 Here’s what even my closest friends don’t know… I don’t just collect words. I categorize them. Yep, I have a whole system. Words for rainy days, words for when I’m feeling unstoppable, and even words for when I just need a good laugh. My diaries are like little libraries of moods waiting to be opened.
👑 My friends call me Wordista. Actually, they literally christened me. It’s stuck ever since, and TBF, I’ve embraced it. It’s not just a name; it’s who I am, a little obsessed with words and proud of it!
🧑🧑🧒 💖 Family is everything to me. No matter how busy life gets, my husband and daughter always come first. They’re my constant source of joy, support, and love, and everything I do revolves around creating memories with them. Whether we’re traveling, having family movie nights, or talking about life, spending time with them is my idea of perfection. We’re a team: we laugh together, solve problems together, and always have each other’s backs.
☕ Tea is my love language. I’m a full-on chaivinist. I believe the world’s problems could be solved over a good cup of tea. If not, at least we’d be caffeinated enough to try.
✨ I’m an HR-turned-Teacher-turned-Travel-turned-Quote Blogger. Life’s been a plot twist, and mine feels like a multi-genre series. From hiring people to shaping young minds, exploring the world, and now freelancing for publications while blogging about words, who knew all these paths would somehow connect? Turns out, every chapter has its purpose (and maybe HR training was the prologue I didn’t see coming).
🤷♀️ My daughter thinks I’m cool (well, occasionally). She calls me Mumma Wordista, though eye-rolling is her second language. Sharing too many quotes or life lessons instantly earns one. Apparently, even wisdom has its limits. Teenagers, I tell you!
🎭 I’ve got a thing for anonymous artists. There’s something so beautiful about focusing on the art, not the fame. Atticus, you’re my favorite mystery. And yes, I’ve been fangirling since 2013; it’s practically a long-term relationship by now.
🎬 I’ve never seen Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. Yep, I skipped the movie that made Hrithik Roshan a star. For my readers outside India, think of it as the Bollywood equivalent of skipping Titanic or The Notebook. But I did fall head over heels for Hrithik Roshan in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. That bull run scene: chef’s kiss.
📖 I read the Elements of Style for fun. Call me a nerd, but grammar rules and writing tips are my idea of a good time. While others binge-watch shows, I geek out over the Oxford comma and debate the difference between “which” and “that.” Yep, I’m that person.
🎩 I wear many hats (figuratively, of course). I’m a travel blogger, quote enthusiast, poet, tea drinker, home decorator, amateur photographer, and full-time word nerd. Basically, I collect hobbies like others collect shoes. Jack of all trades, master of none? I’m okay with that. Or maybe master of some? Let’s go with that.
📚 Sniffing books is my favorite ritual. Before I read them, I take a good sniff (especially old books). It’s part of the experience. That earthy, nostalgic smell is pure magic. Book lovers, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
🥹 I’m deeply emotional and sensitive. I’m a softie at heart. I can’t help it. I tear up at movies, feel deeply for people in pain (even strangers), and basically have a built-in emotional radar. My sensitivity is on overdrive, and I might need a tissue every now and then, but hey, it’s just me being me!
🪴 I talk to my plants: No, they don’t talk back. Yet.
🤓 I think puns are hilarious. If you don’t agree, we can still be friends. Probably. But only if you laugh at at least one.
🧠 Bad grammar is my kryptonite. It’s “you’re,” not “your.” “There,” not “their.” “Definitely,” not “definately.” Watching grammar go rogue feels like nails on a chalkboard. Can we all agree to give punctuation and spelling the respect they deserve?
🌍 People who litter are my nemesis. The trash can is right there. Why is it so hard to use it? It’s not just litter; it’s a betrayal of the planet. Let’s do better, people.
🔄 Leaving things half-done drives me crazy. Starting something and not finishing it is like leaving a sentence hanging mid-way. It’s just wrong. Let’s stick to the rule: start it, finish it, done.
🌀 People who don’t return borrowed items test my patience. It annoys me to no end when I lend something, and it disappears into the void. Honestly, is returning things that hard? It’s like my stuff enters a black hole, and I’m left wondering if I’ll ever see it again. The real kicker is when you remind them several times, and they finally give it back in bad shape, like they’re doing you a favor. And somehow, you’re the one who feels guilty for asking.
✏️ I’m guilty of hoarding cute stationery. I collect notebooks, pens, and sticky notes that are way too pretty to use. Instead, I admire them as they belong in a museum…like it’s fine art. Writing on them feels like a crime.
🗣️ I can’t stand it when someone cuts me off mid-thought. Interrupting during conversation is not just annoying, it’s downright disrespectful. Let me finish what I’m saying before you jump in. It’s basic conversation etiquette, but apparently, not everyone got the memo.
💬 Slang overload isn’t my jam. Not everything needs to be “lit” or “slay.” Can we bring back full sentences?
🎨 I color-code everything. I have a thing for organizing by color. Books, clothes, even my notes, all end up in a rainbow. Does it make sense? Maybe not to everyone, but it makes me happy.
⏰ I can’t stand being late. I’m always on time, sometimes even annoyingly early. Waiting around for others who aren’t? Let’s just say it’s not my favorite thing.
☀️ I have no time for negativity. I’d rather focus on the silver lining than let negativity rain on the day. A little optimism never hurt anyone.
🍽️ Loud chewing makes me cringe. Why does eating have to sound like a percussion concert? I’ll never understand how some people make it so… musical. It’s one of those things that gets under my skin every time.
🎭 I avoid unnecessary drama. Life’s dramatic enough without the theatrics.
🙊 I read quotes aloud like I’m on stage. I read quotes aloud with full dramatic flair as if I’m auditioning for a blockbuster. There’s no audience, there’s no script. It’s just me, owning the imaginary spotlight.
🏡 I’m a firm believer in Vastu. Call me old-school, but I think the energy of space matters. A little alignment and balance never hurt anyone, right? For me, Vastu isn’t just a concept, it’s a way of life. I don’t rent or buy a house without making sure it aligns with Vastu principles.
🎵 I once had a songwriting phase: Let’s just say the world isn’t ready for my musical genius. Or maybe it is, but I’m sparing you.
😬 Anxiety is my uninvited companion. I get anxious in crowded places, when meeting someone for the first time, when visiting a new home, when traveling, or even when hosting guests at mine. Don’t ever get me started on interviews; it’s like my brain hits overdrive. Whether it’s packing, planning, or just the unknown, anxiety always sneaks into my suitcase. Basically, anxiety likes to tag along wherever it pleases.
🤦♀️ I’m a recovering FOMO addict. I have a serious case of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), and I’m working on it. I’ve managed to tone it down a bit, but it still gets the best of me sometimes. Like Deepika Padukone’s character, Naina says in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, “Life mein jitna bhi try karo, kuch na kuch toh chootega hi. Isliye yahin, isi pal ka maza lete hain.” (No matter how hard we try in life, something will always be missed. So, let’s just enjoy this moment.) I’m learning to embrace that, one step at a time.
💆♀️ I deal with serious migraines. Migraines and I go way back. I’ve learned to manage them over the years, but they still know how to show up at the most inconvenient times: during travel, while blogging, or even after too much screen time. But they can’t stop me from doing what I love. When they hit, a quiet, dark room becomes my best friend. It’s just me, a pillow, hoping for relief and power through—because nothing holds me back for long.
💭 Here are a few life lessons I hold close to.
🔑 “There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning.” ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti
🔑 “Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.” ~ Pele
🔑 “Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for.” ~ Zig Ziglar
🔑 “Try new things, step out of your comfort zone, take risks, do things in ways you’ve never done them before, ask for help, surround yourself with self-actualized people, become obsessed with the fact that you have one go-round on this planet as you that is you, and realize how precious and important it is not to squander that.” ~ Jen Sincero
🔑 “Lost time is never found again.” ~ Benjamin Franklin
🔑 “Out of your vulnerabilities will come your strength.” ~ Sigmund Freud
🔑 “The goal is progress, not perfection.” ~ Kathy Freston
🕉️ The mantra that grounds me is ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय (Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya). It’s my go-to for peace, strength, and connection to the divine. Whenever life feels overwhelming, chanting this mantra helps me find balance and reconnect with myself.

I’ll never forget the time my papa pretended to know magic. He locked the new bicycle I’d always wanted in another room, waved a magic wand, and chanted an incantation in the air. He told me to check the front room, where the bike would magically appear. I ran to the room, opened the door, and there it was, my dream bicycle, just waiting for me. I was stunned, elated, and beyond happy. It was late at night, around 12 am, and my dad even made me ride it on the road at that hour.

That’s all about me!
I’m not a celebrity or someone you’d spot on a red carpet, but maybe you’re here because you like the way I put my words together or because my blog made you smile, think, or dream a little.
Either way, these random facts are like breadcrumbs to who I really am: quirky, curious, and always up for a good laugh.
I’ve created this page because sometimes, connecting with someone goes beyond their words. It’s about understanding the person behind the screen. If there’s something specific you’d like to know about me, just ask! Who knows, it might just make it to the next update of this page.
