Know All About WORDISTA

Where words find meaning and meaning finds you

What’s Wordista

It’s where words come to life or shall I call it a love letter to words!

Wordista is a space for people who love language. Not just how it sounds, but how it feels. How it stays. How it shows up exactly when you need it to.

It’s where quotes, poetry, captions, affirmations, and little reflections come together to make sense of everything we often can’t say out loud. Everything here is picked with care. Nothing random. Nothing rushed. Just the kind of words you’d want to save, share, or come back to when you need them. This blog was created for people who turn to words when life gets a bit much or doesn’t make sense or sometimes when it’s just too beautiful to keep to yourself.

It’s for the quiet feelers, the deep thinkers, the late-night journal writers. And for anyone who’s ever saved a screenshot of a quote because it hit home. It’s also for those looking for the right words to go with that one perfect photo. A caption that’s not cringe. A quote that fits your WhatsApp mood. A line to post on Facebook that actually feels like you. Wordista isn’t loud. It’s not complicated, either. Just honest, beautiful words that sit with you a little longer than the scroll.

It’s also for the ones who dog-ear book pages, who keep journals half-filled with thoughts, or who secretly dream of writing their own stories one day.

Meet the Curator

Hey, I’m Anjali; Living and Breathing Wordista, yes, the human behind this world of words. I’m a word nerd with a heart full of wanderlust and a head buzzing with creativity.

I’m the lucky wife of a civil engineer who works so hard that I sometimes wonder if he’s secretly building his own empire and the over-the-moon momma to a fabulous teenage girl who keeps me on my toes and occasionally rolls her eyes at my “cool mom” moments.

Our little family calls Noida home, though truth be told, our suitcases are probably more well-traveled than we are! We’re always ready for the next globetrotting adventure, passports, and snacks in hand.

When I’m not here spilling my heart in words, I’m chronicling those wanderings over at Travel Melodies; my travel blog packed with travel stories, clever hacks, travel quotes, and a love for every corner of this wild, beautiful world.

I’m a sentimental softie with an unapologetic obsession for all things bright and beautiful. Words have been my ride-or-die since forever, and don’t even get me started on cute stationery. I may or may not own enough to open a mini stationery store. Add in pastels, vintage treasures, and those soul-soothing conversations that make time disappear, and you’ve got me in a nutshell.

Alongside that obsession lives my love for all things bookish. The smell of fresh pages, the thrill of slipping into a story, the quiet joy of a journal waiting to be filled. I cherish it all.

Reading has been my escape, journaling my therapy, and storytelling is the thread that ties it all together. Whether I’m scribbling in margins, crafting a blog post, or losing myself in a novel, words in every form are how I make sense of the world. Wordista is simply an extension of that, my way of collecting and sharing the stories, big or small, that make life a little richer.

I never really thought of myself as a “writer.” Sure, I scribbled poetry and short stories for school magazines, but somewhere between growing up and chasing deadlines in the corporate world, that spark went quiet. Life happened, and writing slipped into the background. Then came travel. Somewhere between boarding passes and blog drafts, I found myself writing again.

Travel blogging turned into freelancing, and freelancing turned into a crash course in writing for others. Every brief, every edit, every article, it was a learning curve, sometimes steep, but always worth it. And quietly, in the margins, I still wrote for myself. Stories. Poems. Things I never shared because, well… hello, impostor syndrome.

They live in my notebooks—raw, messy, unpolished. But they’re there, and maybe one day I’ll be brave enough to share them. Until then, if you ever feel like reading something straight from my notebooks, I might just let you peek.

My life’s soundtrack is the swish of tea being poured, the rustle of a well-loved book, the scratch of a pen across paper, the click of keys when words finally tumble out, the crunch of cobblestones under my feet, and the rare, blissful silence of untouched places far from the tourist trail.

When I’m not Wordista-ing (yes, that’s officially a verb now), you’ll likely find me in one of my happy places. Maybe I’m laughing over a lazy chat with my favorite humans (my husband, daughter, and sis—aka my personal cheer squad), losing myself in a gripping novel, or sipping my beloved masala chai.

Did I mention I’m a proud chaivinist? Tea > Coffee, always. Other little joys in my life include crafting dream travel itineraries that may or may not happen, sneaking in guilt-free afternoon naps, and letting my soul sway to music that makes my heart hum.

Yoga keeps me sane & grounded, Abhyanga keeps me glowing (hopefully), and sunsets that steal your words are just the cherry on top of this beautiful mess called life. Wordista is my love letter to the magic of words, the joy of simple moments, and the belief that life is best lived with a dash of creativity and curiosity. Thanks for stopping by—it means the absolute world to me. Stick around; the best is yet to come! 🌟

If you’re curious and want to know more about me and how I pull the strings here, I’ve got a whole page of downright fun tidbits waiting for you. Head over to Fun Facts About Me, where I spill the tea (literally and figuratively) about my quirks, faves, and the random stuff that makes me, well, me. It’s like the bloopers reel of my life—but better. Let’s get personal!

Why I started Wordista

Dorothy L. Sayers once said,I always have a quotation for everything—it saves original thinking.” And honestly? Same. Why rack my brain for the perfect words when the world’s greatest minds have already done the heavy lifting? Quotes come in handy when you’re out of words.

Like Julio Cortázar said, “In quoting others, we cite ourselves.” Every quote I save somehow echoes something I’ve felt, believed, or needed to hear.

Call it a habit, an obsession, or just a survival strategy—I collect words the way some people collect souvenirs. A line that makes me smile, a quote that pushes me forward, or a phrase that feels like a warm hug—I tuck them away, ready to pull out whenever life calls for a little perspective (or just a really good comeback).

I have always had a lifelong love affair with words. I believe in their magic. Words can heal, inspire, or change life.

Since childhood, I have collected, hoarded, and treasured them as jewels. From a simple phrase that brings joy to a piece of poetry that stirs the soul and a quote that motivates me through life’s most challenging moments, I find comfort, inspiration, and strength in the written word.

On certain days, life feels heavier than my grocery bags after “just a quick shop.” On those days, I flip through my words, save them on my system, or scribble them in my diary.

Words lift, guide, and remind one to live all the more. I have lived by this, and I’d like to share it with others who understand the power of words just like I do.

Over time, this love for words grew beyond just saving quotes or phrases. It’s in the books I can’t put down, the stories I try to write, the poems that sneak out on quiet nights, and the journals stacked in my drawers. Reading fuels me, writing grounds me, and together they remind me that words aren’t just collected, they’re created, lived, and shared.

I started this cozy space to share the quotes, poetry, phrases, awords that have inspired and motivated me on my journey and also to pour in my love for all things bookish. From the novels I’ve devoured to the journals I’ve filled, from the poems I’ve scribbled to the stories I’ve blogged, every step of my reading and writing journey has been shaped by words in some form. Some helped me, some challenged me, some stayed with me quietly. Wordista is where it all comes together because words, in every shape and shade, have always been home.

I’m sure the readers who believe that the right words at the right time make everything feel better will appreciate this space. Whether you’re looking for comfort, a spark of creativity, or a fresh perspective, I hope you will find something here that speaks to you just as these words have spoken to me and maybe even nudges you to pick up a pen, fill a page in your journal, or chase your own stories.

And every now and then, I might sneak in my own random thoughts and reflections, so bear with me, they’re part of the ride.

What I HOPE WORDISTA BECOMES

I hope Wordista becomes a place you turn to when you’re looking for the right words or when you’re trying to write them yourself.

MY Value

I value words that resonate; the kind you save, revisit, or quietly carry with you. My content is created not to impress, but to connect.

MY Mission

To create a space where words feel like home. Where a single sentence can say what your heart’s been trying to. I’m here for the real, the relatable, and the beautifully said.

MY Commitment

I’m committed to keeping Wordista real and intentional. No fluff, no filler, no clickbait. Just thoughtful, honest words that stay with you, long after you’ve read them. Words that can comfort you on a rough day, get you scribbling in your journal, spark an idea for your next story, or just remind you why you fell in love with language to begin with.

I didn’t start Wordista with a strategy or a grand plan. I started it with a feeling that words, when chosen with care, can shift something inside us. And I hoped that maybe, just maybe, someone out there needed those same words too.

I’m not chasing trends. I’m curating meaning. I am simply here to say things that matter, in a way that feels like they’ve been waiting for you all along.

My aim is simple: to create a meaningful space that feels real, comforting, and quietly inspiring.

A place where you don’t have to scroll through noise to find something that actually means something. Whether it’s a quote that lands at the right moment, a caption that says exactly what you couldn’t, or a line of poetry that makes you pause; I want Wordista to be that gentle nudge, that saved screenshot, that deep breath in a fast world.

And that’s what I hope Wordista becomes, a soft place to land when the world feels too much, and a spark of something beautiful when it doesn’t.

If you’re a reader, I want you to find lines worth saving. If you’re a journaler, I want you to find prompts that push your thoughts onto the page. If you’re a writer or storyteller, I want you to find inspiration, tools, and little sparks that push your work forward. And if you’re just someone who loves playing with language, I want you to feel at home here too.

This space isn’t about fluff or filler. It’s about words that connect, in whatever form you need them; comfort, creativity, or courage to keep writing.
